ACLASS Guidance on ISO/IEC 17020
Inspection Body Accreditation
ACLASS accreditation for inspection bodies and inspection
agencies allows you to assure your customers of your compliance
with international standards and international recognition of good
practices, and your technical competence to perform specific types
of inspections.
ACLASS accreditation provides a ready means for customers to
identify and select reliable inspection services to meet their
needs.
ACLASS uses ISO/IEC 17020 and IAF/ILAC-A4 for
accreditation of inspection bodies. Our management and technical
staff assure high-quality service, integrity, independence,
impartiality, confidentiality, highly-trained experts and
assessors, and unmatched customer service.
The application form includes
a list of inspection areas for which accreditation may be applied.
ACLASS provides inspection body accreditation services if ACLASS
has or can reasonably obtain the proper credentials and
resources.

Accreditation for Special Inspection Agencies
The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board has expanded its
accreditation areas to include those of Special Inspection
Agencies, with specifics targeted to New York City.
ACLASS accreditation for inspection bodies and inspection

of the International Building Code. The application form includes a
list of inspection areas for which accreditation may be
