Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 is a rewarding
process to move your organization toward global recognition,
consistent operations, and sustaining a competitive advantage. For
suppliers seeking competent testing facilities, accreditation to
ISO/IEC 17025 with a scope of lab accreditation appropriate for the
calibration or testing required provides the needed assurance.
ACLASS is one of the few multi-disciplinary bodies offering lab
accreditation in many different areas of calibration and testing.
We also accredit companies for unique scopes and customized test
areas. The application form includes
a list of calibration/measurement and testing parameters.
The accreditation process begins when ACLASS receives your
completed application form and fee. At this point, your
organization is ready to begin the accreditation journey and is on
its way toward experiencing the value-added benefits of
certification.
Although a laboratory does not have to become accredited for all
its capabilities, the scope of specific calibrations and/or tests
defines your accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. To ensure consistency,
the format is written in accordance with NIST 811, Guidelines for
the Expression of SI Units. Also refer to the ACLASS Guidance on Scopes of
Accreditation.
Technical assessors conduct a thorough evaluation of all factors
relevant to a laboratory's ability to produce precise, accurate
calibration and test data. Accredited labs are regularly
re-examined to ensure that they maintain their standards of
technical expertise. In addition, they may be required to
participate in proficiency testing programs or inter-laboratory
comparisons as an ongoing demonstration of their competence.
