ANSI/NCSLI Z540 Accreditation
Calibration laboratories may also elect assessment to the
requirements of American national standards ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994
and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006. These are optional compliance
assessments and are available only as an addendum to ISO/IEC
17025:2005 accreditation. These requirements can be found in ACLASS form 1 (for Z540-1) or ACLASS form 43 (for
Z540.3). The assessment of the Z540.3 requirements
typically adds about a half day of assessment time in addition to
the ISO/IEC 17025 assessment, while Z540-1 typically adds no extra
time.
